Sundra Flansburg is Lead Organizer for VOICE, a coalition of churches, nonprofits, unions, and other civic organizations in the Oklahoma City Metro Area. She holds master's degrees from the University of Michigan in Musicology and the University of Costa Rica in Gender Studies. She created and directed a fund that provided emergency relief to undocumented families following the devastating 2014 Shawnee and Moore, OK, tornadoes. That fund evolved into college scholarships to eight undocumented immigrant students in Oklahoma, including several Dreamers. She is honored to have received awards from the Oklahoma Universal Human Rights Alliance and the League of Latin American Citizens of Oklahoma City, as well as First Unitarian Church of Oklahoma City for work to improve Oklahoma City and create a better community for its diverse residents. She is a proud mother to her daughter Catalina, who is from Guatemala.
