Intern, Business Intelligence

Are you interested in a career in analytics and looking for an internship to help you gain experience? The Oklahoma City Thunder Business Intelligence department is looking for a college student to join our team! This internship offers learning experiences throughout the realm of analytics, including: ETL processes, data warehousing, sales optimization, reporting and visualizing data, and working with Customer Relationship Management tools. This internship grants exciting opportunities to work with data from across the entire organization while supplementing key business decisions.
Spring internships begin January 2023. Our internship program provides practical work experience in a professional environment as well as supplemental program activities such as resume reviews, personal and professional development workshops and other events crafted to enrich the internship experience. We also offer perks such as paid downtown parking and tickets to a home game during the season!
In this role you will:

  • Facilitate data workflow by cleansing, warehousing, analyzing, and visualizing data from various departments across the organization
  • Participate in various Customer Relationship Management (CRM) efforts including database management, business processes, and campaign management
  • Perform customer research studies including survey creation and analysis
  • Contribute towards a project based on relevant needs
  • Update internal reporting on a routine basis
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Presently enrolled at an accredited university and approved by your school to receive internship credit
  • Students pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields preferred
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, and/or Archtics ticketing system preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation including effective communication with internal customers, outside agencies, and vendors
  • Confident speaking and presenting in front of groups
  • Strong work ethic including the ability to handle multiple projects, tasks and priorities and collaborative spirit
Additional details:
Employees will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered. This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence. Work schedule will include 15-20 hours per week. Work location will be the Thunder corporate office located at Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are needed for occasional local travel. Physical requirements will include bending and lifting up to approximately 30 pounds.
