University General Counsel
Oklahoma City University invites applications for the position of University General Counsel. The University General Counsel is the chief legal officer for the university, reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees who has delegated supervision to the President for day-to-day management of the position. This position serves as a member of the President’s executive leadership team. The University General Counsel is responsible for managing the institution’s legal affairs, including advising on legal rights, obligations and related matters. The General Counsel may provide legal advice to the Board of Trustees, and the President.
The University seeks a legal professional who holds a deep understanding and appreciation for the role and mission of a liberal arts university. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and be admitted and in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of ten years’ experience in legal practice, administration, or a combination of both, preferably in an environment similar to Oklahoma City University.
