Oklahoma City University invites applications for the position of University General Counsel. The University General Counsel is the chief legal officer for the university, reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees who has delegated supervision to the President for day-to-day management of the position. This position serves as a member of the President’s executive leadership team. The University General Counsel is responsible for managing the institution’s legal affairs, including advising on legal rights, obligations and related matters. The General Counsel may provide legal advice to the Board of Trustees, and the President. 
The University seeks a legal professional who holds a deep understanding and appreciation for the role and mission of a liberal arts university. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and be admitted and in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of ten years’ experience in legal practice, administration, or a combination of both, preferably in an environment similar to Oklahoma City University.
Established in 1904, Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a coeducational, urban private university located in Oklahoma City, OK, in the Uptown 23rd district.  The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and offers a wide variety of degrees in liberal arts, performing arts, health professions, and business with more than 60 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate degrees, as well as a J.D. degree through the Oklahoma City University School of Law. OCU enrolls more than 1,500 undergraduate students and 1,100 graduate students from 30 states and 43 countries.
