The Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America, invites the public to a Scouting showcase event to celebrate their 100th anniversary Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m at the American Fidelity Campus at Broadway and Wilshire. This come-and-go event offers an opportunity to experience the best of Scouting through fun and enriching outdoor activities and exhibitions including KFOR meteorologist Reed Timmer, an Olympic rowers showcase, archery and model rocket launches and an evening show featuring NASA shuttle astronaut and first native American in space, Commander John Herrington. Oct 31    Day of the Dead
A centuries-old Latin American holiday that celebrates the lives of departed family and friends will take on a decidedly modern twist when University of Oklahoma Student Life and the OU Hispanic American Student Association host their version of Day of the Dead  or Dia de los Muertos  from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Walker Adams Mall, 300 W. 3rd St., on OU's Norman campus.
